Kamil Krolak
Born in Poland in 1986 in picturesque city called Szczecin.
In 2007 he decided to follow his passion and moved to Galway in order to start a Film and TV Course in Galway Community College.
Kamil has been a media partner of PREDA Galway since 2008. PREDA is a children’s charity based in the Philippines which strives to free children from the sex industry and adult prisons. The charity receives strong support from actor Martin Sheen.
During his time in GCC he was editor and production coordinator for the PREDA documentary “Power of a Voice”. He worked closely with charity founder and multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominee Fr. Shay Cullen and Irish musician Damien Dempsey on this production. Damien spoke of the positive message the documentary expressed at the premiere in Galway coordinated by Kamil and the crew.
An extract of ”Power of A Voice” featured at the “2008 Rehab People Of The Year Awards” on RTE and was included in the Galway Film Fleadh Programme in July of the same year. It has been warmly received on YouTube also.
Kamil has done some PR work with musician Sharon Shannon and actor James Cromwell for PREDA in recent years.
In 2009 he enrolled in a level 7 Film and TV Course in Galway Mayo Institute of Technology.
He also worked as official photographer for Galway Film Fleadh in 2010 – where he engaged as a photographer with Brendan Gleeson, Paul Fraser, Galway Mayor, creators of “Toy Story’ Series, Jimmy Murakami and many more.
In 2011 Kamil released one of his short documentaries on-line. The project immediately becomes a global success. “Fifty People One Question – Ireland” has been viewed around the world since its release in May (2011) and has received media attention from numerous media sources from Japan to New York. Over 370,000 viewed it in the first two weeks and it is currently shared on over 60,000 websites and official internet portals all over the globe.
Kamil is currently working on a number of other projects which he will be completing in the coming months.
